Sasya Shyamala KVK, RKMVERI organized World Soil Day on December 05, 2023 in the Training Hall of Harishpur Mahajati Sangha, Harishpur, Gosaba Block.
Dr. Ritesh Kundu, Assistant Director of Agriculture, Gosaba Block, Mrs. Swarnamayee Sarkar, Pradhan, Mrs. Sudha Rani Mondal, Upo-Pradhan and Madhusudan Sarkar, member, Kachukhali Gram Panchayat, Mr. Gaur Chandra Sardar, Sabhapati, Harishpur Mahajati Sangha were present programme. The role of soil and water management on growth and yield of horticultural crops was discussed by Dr. Prasenjit Kundu, SMS (Horticulture), SSKVK. Dr. Ritesh Kundu, ADA Gosaba discussed different Govt. schemes related to soil health management. Dr. Krishnendu Ray, SMS (Agronomy) dealt with the role of organic waste management for better soil health and productivity of field crops. Soil Health Cards were distributed to 250 farmers. Azolla production units arranged by Harishpur Mahajati Sangha were also inauguratedon the occasion.
