World Wetland Day is being observed world over on 2nd February every year. Ramsar Convention was organized on 2nd February, 1971 at Ramsar, Iran where all the member countries took oath for Conservation of Wetlands in their countries. To commemorate the event Sasya Shyamala Krishi Vigyan Kendra, RKMVERI observed the World Wetland Day at the KVK today, the 2nd February, 2023. Dr. B. K. Das, Director, ICAR-CIFRI, Barrackpore was the Chief Guest. Dr. G. H. Pailan, Principal Scientist and Officer-in-Charge of ICAR-CIFE and Dr. Archan Kanti Das, Principal Scientist, ICAR-CIFRI were present as Special Guests. Fifty farmers, farm women and rural youths from the district and East Kolkata Wetlands Ramsar Site and all the staff of Sasya Shyamala KVK attended the programme.
