A two-day residential training programme on Agriculture and Allied Sectors was successfully organized on 29–30 June 2026 at Sasya Shyamala Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (RKMVERI), Arapanch, West Bengal, under the project “Strengthening Women Farmers for Food Security and Livelihood Resilience in the Indian Sundarbans”, funded by the Australian Consulate General–Kolkata, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Government of Australia, with the Division of Agronomy, RKMVERI, Narendrapur as the research partner. The programme was attended by 25 women farmers from the project area and focused on enhancing their knowledge and practical skills in sustainable agriculture and allied enterprises. The training covered key topics including vermicompost production, fish feed preparation, poultry rearing, climate-resilient crop production practices, and scientific horticultural crop cultivation. The sessions combined theoretical discussions with practical demonstrations, enabling participants to strengthen their technical capacities for improving farm productivity, income generation, and livelihood resilience in the Indian Sundarbans.
